SEND Provision

The Academy of St Nicholas is fully committed to being an inclusive school.

The academy operates a graduated approach to the identification of students with Special Educational Needs and Disability. Subject teachers will use a four step model; Assess, Plan, Do, Review, taking into account the views of the student and their parents. Evidence of individual performance based on learning outcomes will lead to intervention being put in place. We regularly liaise with students and their parents to decide on appropriate provision. This provision could be provided by school staff or from an external agency.

We pride ourselves on building positive relationships with parents. Our aim is to ensure that all of our students achieve their full potential, both academically and socially. Our Learning Support Team includes The Trust Director of SEN, Director of Progress for SEND, Head of the Small Learning Community, Teachers, Directors of Progress, Heads of Year and Learning Support Assistants.

SEND Local Offer

Liverpool's local offer provides information for children and young people with special educational needs (SEND) their parents or carers - all in one place. Knowing what is out there gives you more choice and control over what support is right for you or your child. On the local offer website you can: Search for services from a range of local agencies including education, health and social care. Find out more about SEND reforms and keep up to date with the scope of the local offer as it develops and grows.
