Government & Politics

SUBJECT OVERVIEW

The aim of Government and Politics is to develop students’ understanding of the political system in which they live.  We will critically evaluate, using examples from British politics, the nature of democracy, the electoral system and the activities of pressure groups.  Once we have a sound knowledge of how people participate in politics we will then tackle the issues that arise from Britain’s constitution, and evaluate the effectiveness of how we are governed.
