Covid 19

Can we please remind you, if any member of your household is symptomatic, your child should not attend the Academy. If students are required to self-isolate, please ensure they do not leave the house. This is essential if we are going to stop the spread of the virus.  Please see our website for further information and guidance on how you should report a suspected or confirmed case of Covid-19.

In the unfortunate event that your child is sent home due to being in contact with a confirmed case of Covid-19, you will receive a letter outlining the return date to school and information on the requirements for self-isolate. Please be aware that, sometimes, these dates can change if new information comes to light surrounding the confirmed case. If this happens, please be assured that we are taking all necessary precautions to protect your child and others.

Please see below a letter from Tony Reeves, Chief Executive, with regards to the Tier 3 Restrictions in Liverpool dated 14th October.

Face Masks

Students are in really positive routines when it comes to wearing face masks. It is now compulsory for all students to these in schools when in communal areas (with the exception of classrooms). Please ensure you son/daughter has a face mask at all times in order to protect themselves and others.

Class Charts

Any student who has recently been sent home to self-isolate can access Class Charts for details of work that should be completed at home.

 ParentPay

If you haven’t already activated your ParentPay account, please can we ask you to do so as soon as possible with immediate effect as students will not be able to access food or drinks.

ParentPay offers you the freedom to make payments whenever and wherever you like, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – safe in the knowledge that the technology used is of the highest internet security available.

You will have a secure online account, activated using a unique username and password; you will be prompted to change these, and to keep them safe and secure.  If you have more than one child at our school, or children at other ParentPay schools, you can create a single account login for all your children.  Making a payment is straightforward and ParentPay holds a payment history for you to view at a later date; no card details are stored in any part of the system. Once you have activated your account you can make online payments straight away.

PE Kit

A reminder that on days when students have their PE practical lesson, they may attend in their full Academy PE kit (this must not be any other sports wear), not in their own clothes, in order to meet guidance for taking part in PE lessons.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Enjoy the weekend and stay safe.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs Sing

Letter from Tony Reeves – Liverpool City council.

Today, Liverpool has entered tier-3 of the new coronavirus restrictions.

They are the toughest rules in the country, because we face some of the highest infection rates in the country. More than 3,000 new cases have been confirmed over the past week.

We have 250 people in hospital with COVID-19.  It is a very serious situation.

The only way out of it is by working together to reduce the spread.

City leaders have come together with a strong message for us all. You can view the message via this  link

It is vital that as a city we respond to the message and work together to keep our residents safe. We would be grateful if you could share this widely across your communications channels and networks.

Regards

 Tony Reeves

Week Ending 2nd October

Dear Parent/Carer,

Despite some disruption this week and a number of students having to go home and self-isolate, we are continuing to adapt to the challenges of the new ‘school’ life. The students are now in a good habit of wearing their face masks when on corridors and in communal areas and this is really helping us to make the school as safe as possible.

Just a reminder that that your child has a face covering and a plastic bag to store it in, when they come into the Academy, all students must wear face coverings when on corridors and around the building. Face coverings are sold in the Academy, disposable face coverings are 50p each and reusable face coverings £1. Also, please remember to wear a face mask yourself if you have an appointment on site.

Self- isolation

If students are required to self-isolate, please ensure they do not leave the house. This is essential if we are going to stop the spread of the virus. Please see our website for further information on self-isolation and other preventative measures.

INSET Day

Please can I also remind you that Friday 9th October is an Inset Day; no students are to attend the Academy on this day.

Week Ending 18th September

Dear Parent/Carer,

We have had a really positive week at the Academy. Students are settling back in to the routines of school-life and have responded well to the changes. Due to the changing landscape, I will write a weekly blog to parents to share our good news stories and keep you up-to-date.

This week we are asking for your help in organising the students so that they come to school prepared and ready to learn.

Face Coverings

From Monday we will be selling face coverings to students, disposable face coverings will be 50p each and reusable face coverings for £1.
